Autotech Council’s Spotlight Series, hosted by Avanta Ventures, features a handful of interesting startups working in a single industry segment followed by an interactive conversation on the topic led by a few member experts.

Reactions gauged from marketing, media coverage or consumer reviews give Carmakers’ their first impressions on future customers. As Star Trek fans will know, it’s hard to ignore the importance of First Contact, and in the car context, that important experience usually occurs at the dealership. It’s here that the Brand’s representative first gets the chance to interact and deal with the customer.

But the Dealership model is disliked by customers, and is under attack from DTC models from new brands. What are the ways Dealerships can respond to the shifting times, improve the customer experience, and re-establish their value in the supply chain? A number of high-tech based solutions are possible, from EV charging, better use of Big Data, AI, new leasing/purchasing biz models, connected car services, field repairs (ranger service), predictive maintenance, upgrades, and more. The Vehicle Purchase Experience is being disrupted, which creates challenges and opportunity.

Autotech Council's Spotlight Series, brought to you by Avanta Ventures, is a series of virtual meetings that introduce startups and ideas at the cutting edge of mobility and include an interactive discussion among speakers, members, and attendees. This month, startups working in the vehicle purchase experience will share with they are working on and get us all thinking about how dealer tech is being reimagined.
